This panel is dynamic and mesmerizing. It measures 30 inches by 24 inches. The Falcon is 13 inches long and it has a 14 inch wingspan. The Kestrel is hand carved from select Basswood. All the intricate features on the bird have been accurately carved, wood burned and painted.

From the open mouth and the special beak falcons have, to the open wings, all the detail that’s on a live bird has been reproduced on this magnificent wood carving. And all of that is topped off with an incredible paint job. All the colorful field markings on the Falcon have been perfectly reproduced. The Kestrel looks like a live bird that’s been frozen in time.

The grass snake in the panel is also hand carved from select Basswood. It’s posed with its mouth open and its head up, as it struggles to escape. Scales have been lightly burned into the carving to make the serpent appear more realistic. The carving is painted with a life-like beautiful green hue.

The ledge the Falcon and Snake are struggling on is also hand carved from select Basswood. Each of the rocks in the ledge have been carved to look random and realistic. The paint on the rocks adds to the realism and it also makes the ledge appear to be part of the painting. It creates a place where, “Two Dimensions Meet.”

The painting depicts a brook, waterfall, and pool flowing through a woodland scene. Wendy’s masterful touch is seen in her choice of using forest green colors with blue water, and the white waterfall. Which she accented with the neutral gray rocks. Falcon Rock is a stunning masterpiece of imagination, woodcarving, and painting. It’s a piece of “Unimaginable Art” that will be enjoyed for years to come.
